Statement:

I'm Dr. Alioune Badara Traore network and soft applications implementation specialist. I am graduate of the University of Leningrad's Electro technical (now Saint – Petersburg). Having finished my postgraduate studies in 1995 I joined the Telecommunications Company of Mali (SOTELMA) where I was responsible for implementing the National Internet node. Since then I have not stopped to take care of ICT not only within the company but also in the country as am considered a leading player in Mali. I was the first manager of the National Internet node, responsible for the development of Internet and associated technologies in SOTELMA, technical and administrative director of the Malian domain name. ML, the first player in the creation of the LIR in Mali beginning by my company , initiator of training of many users and operators in the Internet community of my country. Now I am in charging of projects in the field of security of networks.

As such I was one of an actor in the creation of the organization AfriNIC since its infancy in Geneva in 1997passing through the Cotonou meeting until he's official creation in Dakar. To better inform the public and Malian's stakeholders about changing technologies of the Internet, I started include regular publications in the country, which has put the population at the same level of information as the direct actors . I am regularly consulted by the actors and my authorities to advise on various issues touching the world of the Internet as the positions to take on the management of IP addresses including through its distribution and the transition to the IP V6 technologies , domain names as member of AFTLD, aspects of security, as well as those of governance ..To better synergize the intervening force in the field of IT and ICT, I created the Association of Software & ICT operators of Mali, which is increasingly the voice of the real actors in the field of Internet and related technologies As one of the leading players in the Internet field I am the Vice-President of Mali's ISOC Chapter which is responsible for training and information of users in the country. I organized the first training of network operators in Mali and many other different national and international levels training.
