Biography - Mark Bennett

After a background of commercial IT in the UK Mark Bennett worked for 12 years at the University of Zambia, during which time he was involved in the start-up of ZamNet, the earliest ISP in the region. He then set up AfriConnect, based out of Cambridge and offering satellite connectivity around Africa generally. In 2005 he set up AfriConnect Zambia, which is now the largest conventional ISP in the country and which was sold to Vodacom in 2010. Last year Mark moved to working full time for iSchool, which is developing eLearning for the Zambian school curriculum
