As part of the FIRE Africa Grants and Awards Programme, nine winners travelled to AFRINIC-23 to take part in the FIRE Africa Workshop on Business Development Knowledge & Skills (Part 2). Part 1 took place at the AFRINIC-22 Meeting held in June 2015. The sessions taking place during AFRINIC-23 aim to equip the participants with knowledge about finance, accounting, corporate structures, funding sources and the financial reporting required for the FIRE Africa programme.
FIRE Africa provides funds for projects, initiatives, tools and platforms that harness the power of the Internet to empower the local and regional community to solve the region’s unique online communications problems. Two of the participants will be presenting their amazing projects at 14:00 (UTC+1) on Friday, so do stick around to find out how the Shona E-reader/MyNatiV app is helping rural kids in Zimbabwe learn to read and learn more about Kenya’s Nikohapa Customer Engagement Platform.
