AFRINIC-17: Message of Appreciation
|
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for participating in AFRINIC-17 in Khartoum, Sudan, between 24th and 29th November 2012. We had more than 150 onsite delegates from all over Africa. Many others participated remotely. During the meeting, several trainings, namely: IPv6 for Managers, IPv6 for Engineers, IPv6 for Decision Makers, CSIRT for Managers, CSIRT for Technical Staff, DNSSEC, and INRM were conducted. There was an Operators Day during which operators shared experiences, successes and challenges facing them in their work. Five policies were discussed. There were briefings from around the world, particularly from the Number Resource Organization (NRO), Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA), and other Regional Internet Registries, namely APNIC, Lacnic, and RIPE NCC. To all the trainers, participants and organisations at AFRINIC 17, we extend our sincere gratitude for your support, participation and contributions. We owe special thanks to the local host, the National Telecommunications Corporation, for helping organise the event. We would also like to thank the sponsors, Sudatel, dot Africa, Vision Valley, Internet Society, Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) and Seacom for their support, contributions and for making the event memorably successful. Thank you once again for your support and commitment to Internet development in Africa. We look forward to your presence and participation in our next meeting, the Africa Internet Summit in Lusaka, Zambia, 9-21 June 2013.
