Departure Tax: This is included in the cost of your flight/package.

Airport Development Fee (ADF):

A compulsory Airport Development Fee must be paid by all passengers on exiting the country. The fee is 20 Euros, or equivalent in local currency. Visa credit card is accepted, but no others. Suggested routes

From your port of embarkation, the best option is to transit in Dakar before flying to Banjul. You may choose the following routes:

  • South Africa/Dakar/Banjul

  • South Africa/Lagos/Accra/Banjul

  • Dubai/Dakar/Banjul

  • Brussels/Banjul

  • Casablanca/Banjul

Flying from the United States usually involves scheduled airlines which often connect with the flights from Brussels, then catching a connecting flight to Banjul.

Visa

A Gambian visa is compulsory to enter the country. It is recommended to proceed with a visa request at the closest Gambian Embassy in your country. A list of the countries which require a visa is available below. For those who can obtain visa on arrival, please note that there is a fee payable in cash and you will also be required to present the AfriNIC/AfNOG invitation letter as well as The Gambian Immigration clearance letter.

The following letter is a formal invitation to allow you to proceed with a visa request at the closest Gambian Embassy in your country. Whilst there are arrangements being made for a visa to be granted upon arrival, we would strongly advise you to request for a visa prior to your arrival to avoid unnecessary last minute inconveniences.
